History

Founded by Oliver Latter after graduating from the Royal Agricultural College at the start of this millennium, the company has evolved from humble beginnings developing and manufacturing high performance grades of growing media, largely utilising wood residues.

The availability of raw materials far exceeded the needs of the horticultural industry and has been further stimulated by the need to divert organic material away from landfill. Several radical marketing and processing initiatives were explored which identified considerable demand from a wide spectrum of industries.

Eighty percent of our business is with companies operating in the amenity, agricultural, equestrian, particle board and renewable energy industries.

Our suppliers predominantly operate in the arboricultural, forestry, local authority, waste management and wood manufacturing sectors.

Processing

Our dedicated flagship wood processing facility at Avonmouth specialises in processing all categories of wood-based material from waste management companies – converting the residues into a variety of chip specifications to meet the exacting requirement of our customers.

Logistics

The company has numerous well established port loading and storage facilities plus road, rail and shipping transport agreements in place. These contracts, combined with the high concentration of our national supplier partnerships, enable Boomeco to minimise road miles, provide appropriate quality at cost effective prices for customers and the best ex-works returns for suppliers.
